Imagine Spring
A major transformation has occurred at the old Colonial Bakery Facility at the corner of Spring and Chouteau in St. Louis, Missouri. After years of neglect, the building has become a flagship school for 1,200 children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Through careful design decisions, the building itself has become an educational tool for the students. Students will be prepared for the real world by the real world in a building intended to inspire. The idea and execution of this 'living laboratory' was a huge success and has recently been awarded a prestigious AIA Design Award for the total transformation of this once neglected site.
