We love to design from scratch, but it’s also a special challenge to work within an existing brand’s guidelines to make it work in St. Louis. SPACE Design + Construction gave it a whirl when the Patel family approached us to design and build the first Brass Tap in the metro area near the city limits of Ladue and University City.

Working closely with the Patels and The Brass Tap’s Tampa headquarters, SPACE architects and fabricators massaged the initial design to meet local codes and requirements without neglecting local touches. We collaborated with local artisans including Dan Ricketts at St. Louis Sign & Mural and Drew Chostner at St. Louis Barrel Company.

Inside the space, together we developed an interior material palette within the Brass Tap parameters to create their signature atmosphere for St. Louis in Olivette.
