SPACEhabitat One

8818 West Pendleton
Brentwood, MO 63144

We’ve always wanted to build a home that’s safe for all types of bodies and ages, so instead of waiting for a client to come along, we’re doing it ourselves. We’ve demoed a condemned house in Brentwood, and we’re working on a new “forever home” adaptable-design case study house that features:

  • No-step doorways

    1. Graciously-sized primary bedroom, closet, and bathroom

    2. Wall blocking in key areas for easily adding grab bars later, if needed

    3. Wide circulation paths and wider doors

    4. Bathrooms and kitchens that can adapt to changing physical needs

    5. Lower-maintenance yard

    6. Plans and materials have been reviewed for safety and usefulness by an ADA consultant

The 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house will be 2500 square feet, with a full basement. And of course, it will be built by our own construction team with high-quality timeless materials.

This is the first of what we hope will be many homes of this style. We want to build homes that reflect the changing needs of people, but also how families change and shift over time. We know they’re not for everybody, but we want to challenge the way we conceive of home and how these buildings can serve us more effectively for our entire lives.

We will be selling this house, so if you’re interested, please send a note to info@spacestl.com.
